Sandford Road Auto Centre was taken over by Paul Westmoreland in 2003 the garage has since gone from strength to strength. Paul, an MOT tester & mechanic with over 18 years experience saw an opportunity to build a business based on honesty, quality & reliability.

Car Servicing

At Sandford Road we open from 6am & we offer servicing, maintenance & repairs on all makes & models. Our fully trained mechanics only use original or original specification parts.

We can now, thanks to Block Exemption rules, service new vehicles to manufacturers intervals & specifications without invalidating your warranty (see section below).

What is Block Exemption?

Previously, motorists were required to have their vehicle servicing and repairs performed at the main dealer so as not to risk invalidating the vehicle's warranty. The EC Block Exemption Regulation 1400/2002 (October 2003) allows motorists more flexibility in selecting where they can get their car serviced.

What does this mean to you?

Basically, this means that providing the independent garage you are using, such as Sandford Road Auto Centre, use original parts or parts of matching quality, then you the consumer no longer needs to pay the high prices that main dealers demand and your warranty will remain completely valid with the dealer. Sandford Road only use new, quality vehicle parts. If you wish to maintain your vehicle with us during the warranty period, you can do so without invalidating the warranty.

We currently service & maintain the vehicles of many local businesses & various fleet companies & will welcome enquiries from any new clients. Here at Sandford Road we can carry out repairs for aftermarket warranty providers (AA, RAC, WHA, Warranties Direct, etc….) we can even take care of the paperwork for you !

Repairs

We offer computer diagnostics using the latest Snap On Verus pro system which has 85% manufacturer coverage.

We also offer FREE lights, levels & tyre pressure service & we don’t charge for fitting bulbs or wiper blades.

MOT

Why do I need an MOT?

All motorists are required by law to their car in a roadworthy condition if you use your car on the road. An MOT test checks that the vehicle meets road safety and environmental standards. If your car is more than 3 year old, an annual MOT test is required. Without a valid MOT, your car insurance and road tax will be invalidated.

When can I have an MOT test?

MOT tests can be carried out on your car up to one month prior to the expiry date of an existing MOT certificate. In this case start date for your new MOT will be from expiry date of the current MOT rather than the date which the test has been carried out.
